The Now Page is an initiative started by Derek Sivers, an American author, speaker and businessman. I found this idea really interesting and wanted to have my own Now Page. 🌸
If you ever wonder what I’m doing or focusing on in my life at the moment, you can certainly find me doing the following things:
🤓 Studying hard in a major I’m so in love with
If you’ve ever read my old Now Page, you might wonder why I’m still studying. It’s quite a long story, which I may tell when I feel comfortable enough. For now, I just want to share that I’m studying a major that is both similar to and different from my old one. But these are truly the things I’ve wanted to learn from the very beginning. After a long and winding journey, I’ve finally found where I belong. 🥰
My new major is called Media Conception & Production. I get to dive deeper into the technical side of things, like operating cameras, organizing media production, and even creating print publications and animations. Even though there are a lot of projects and I’m extremely busy, I’m learning what I’m passionate about, so I’m incredibly excited. 👩🎓
I’ll try to share more about what I’m studying with everyone, as I think many of you might be interested in this field. Aside from that, I’ll work even harder on more personal projects to keep improving myself in a positive way, and hopefully, one day, make my dream come true. ☺️
👩💻 Marketing for an IT company
Currently, I’m still pursuing work in marketing, which is the field I have the most experience in. Thanks to my self-taught web development skills, I’m helping manage website content for a large IT company. Even though the job isn’t entirely the exact area I truly love, it provides me with an income to experience life. Thank to this job, I was able to fly back to Vietnam and visit my family! 🙏
Another lucky thing is that I get to work completely remotely and am not required to go to the office. Since it’s a large company, there are plenty of employee perks and benefits that I’m experiencing for the very first time. I hope my work goes smoothly this year and that I make many more great memories with my colleagues. 😍
📸 Photography, scriptwriting, and working on personal projects
Outside of chasing deadlines at school and work, I dedicate my time to developing the area I love the most: media production. I want to focus more on scriptwriting and screenplays because I feel the script is the backbone and soul of a film. I also enjoy taking photos to further train my aesthetic sense. 📝
Last time, I promised that I would try to create a little short film project with my friends. But things seem to be harder than I thought. Just trying to coordinate a time that fits everyone’s schedule feels almost impossible. Everyone is really so busy! 🤔
🌸 Editing and posting photos
I often take photos, but I’m quite lazy when it comes to editing and posting them. When I started my new major, I decided to create the IG page @she.always.sees to post the pictures I take. This also serves as a little motivation for me to post more consistently, instead of just letting them sit around somewhere on my laptop. 🙈
Feel free to visit my She Always Sees IG here, everyone! I would be so happy if you liked the photos or left a comment to let me know your thoughts! 🥹
💖 Still getting chased by Duolingo every day
I can “brag” a little bit that I’ve successfully survived the pressure from Duolingo for over 900 days. Yayyy! I can only spare a tiny amount of time for Duolingo each day, but I think slow progress is better than none at all. So, I’d like to give myself a pat on the back for making the effort to study every day, for a future where I can speak more languages, travel to more places, and understand people from different cultures. 👱♀️
Salut, je m’appelle Kei. Je suis vietnamien. 👋
🔫 Shooting and K-pop 💃
In Wiesbaden, I decided to try shooting and joined a club. I am one of the rare young people participating in this sport, as many people still associate guns with negative things. I know that there are still places in the world where violence is used to solve problems. But for me, holding a firearm and this sport of shooting help me learn more about the meaning of guns and how to use them more responsibly. I also get to train my focus and the stillness of my entire body. This is definitely a sport with a lot to learn from. ☺️
Last semester, my school opened a K-pop dance class, and I signed up after a few failed attempts at finding a bachata dance partner. Even though I don’t listen to K-pop as much as I used to, I still find it really fun to dance in a group and just enjoy the joy of dancing. Sometimes, though, I feel like the worst dancer in the class because I’m quite slow at memorizing the moves. 😅 But as long as it’s fun, that’s all that matters, right? 😋
🌊 Learning to live in the present
My mom always tells me that I overthink and worry too much about the future, which is sometimes quite unnecessary. Lately, I’ve been practicing focusing my thoughts on the present, truly living in every single moment, instead of rushing after a certain goal. I also want to build a better and healthier lifestyle, instead of always just focusing on studying or overworking. The most basic things are remembering to drink enough water, eating and sleeping on schedule, and exercising regularly. It turns out, being human is just exactly that; just follow Uncle Ho’s teachings and everything will be fine ☺️
🍂 Enjoying nature
Autumn has arrived in Wiesbaden. Recently, I’ve been reminding myself to go outside for a bit every day to breathe in the fresh air and connect with nature. I realized that I’ve been cooped up indoors way too much, especially in front of computer and phone screens, which sometimes makes me exhausted because I don’t let myself relax. Reconnecting with nature is a way to make my mind feel lighter and more relaxed.
Right near my house, there’s a little park, and I really love going there to watch the ducks with their bottoms sticking up in the air, hehe 🤭 Who wants to tag along?
